The Swell Season
Glen Hansard, front man with The Frames and Czech singer and pianist Marketa Irglova, are Academy award winning duo The Swell Season.
The self-titled first album came about after Glen and Marketa were approached by the Czech film director Jan Hřebejk while touring in the Czech Republic to bother write the songs and appear in the Sundance Award winning move Once.
A follow up album, Strict Joy, was released in 2009
